Over the years people have used scripture to justify horrible practices (i.e. slavery). And while it is true that there are verses in scripture that talk about slavery, multiple wives, etc. we must never forget the ideal way that God wants us to live.
Think about it this way, when in scripture did a man have multiple wives and it was all peaceful in his house? Surely not for Abraham or Jacob. Definitely not for David and Solomon. Or when has slavery ever been good? When God punished Israel for their rebellion to His ways, they usually ended up as slaves to a foreign power. So don’t tell me that God condones slavery. He desires that we live according to His ways.
His way aligns to His will and part of that will is that we are His witnesses. That we are living for Him and bringing others to Him.
