Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,

Jas 1:2 NASB

When I  read the book of James I get the feeling that James was one of those old school believers. One of those people who said it didn’t matter what was happening to you, that God was still in control. You know like your grandma.

Cause it takes a different faith walk to say when the trials come on you consider it joy. But he understood this fact: trials are a way that we are purified. And things cannot be truly purified unless they are tested in the crucible of fire. The purification burns and causes us to react. The imperfections burn away until all that is left is pure faith and a pure heart. So when the tests come consider it joy for God is perfecting you.
