What evidence do you provide?
Matthew 26:59,60 59 Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death, 60 but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward.
Evidence – that which tends to prove or disprove something. What type of evidence do you provide? All evidence either proves OR disproves something. So again we ask, what type of evidence do you provide? If you claim that God is the #1 in your life, does the evidence of your life prove or disprove that theory? When I look at the text for today, you can see that the chief priests AND the whole council were seeking false testimony so they could put Jesus to death. What type of evidence do you provide? Are our lives false testimony against Jesus or do we, by the example He laid out and by the Spirit of the Living God dwelling within us, PROVE that He is who He says He is?
What I love about this text is that they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. Our lives should be as such that we provide true testimony as to who Christ is. But I share with you that which you already know. So again we must ask, what evidence are we providing?
